What is MD-MF Technology
New Multi-Dimensional Multi-Frequency (MD-MF) technology allows you to delve deeper into signal analysis, giving you the ability to understand more about the nature of a target before digging! This technology operates so swiftly and processes such a vast amount of information that you can detect multiple targets simultaneously! With this innovation, it becomes easy to distinguish a coin from another object made of complex ferrous material that might appear similar on another detector.

Achieve greater detection depth with a more powerful multi-frequency waveform than our Multiflex technology! This advanced MD-MF analysis is present across all three Vortex models:
- VX-5: Features an identification scale displaying multiple targets simultaneously.
- VX-7: Displays multiple targets simultaneously on two scales, allowing for the isolation of simple ferrous targets.
- VX-9: Displays multiple targets simultaneously on three scales, enabling the breakdown of ferrous objects into two categories (complex and simple).
Additionally, each model offers additional frequency settings and workflows.

Garrett’s Multi-Dimensional Multi-Frequency (MD-MF) Technology provides deeper and more accurate target analysis and identification. Targets are detected and analyzed using simultaneous multiple frequencies as well as utilizing multiple dimensions of conductivity and ferrous (iron) content.
This advanced MD-MF analysis takes places within all three Vortex models. It is most visible on the VX-9 model, whose LCD includes a multi-axis Target ID with three distinct scales.
