Omnitron PRO-4 Frequency Discriminator

Nov. 2003 - During the Alabama project we compared the PRO-4 Frequency Discriminator locations with the locations made with several other LRL using different operators. The locations which were made were all very close to the same with each Locator, so in that respect the PRO-4 provides no advantage over the other locators we used. The suspect targets we tested on were deep, estimated to be 40 feet or more in a network of tunnels & vaults' so we were unable to physically ground truth the targets to determine our accuracy. The only target we ground truthed with the PRO-4 was Iron where we dug a Mule shoe and part of an old wood stove. Being Iron buried shallow (about 18 inches) and only digging the one target, I can't disregard the possibility of coincidence. The PRO-4 has yet to prove it's merit with a recovery.
I build my products to suit my own requirements and I can only speak for myself, but as far as I'm concerned the PRO-4 has the practical field use features of LRL's and discriminators presently on the market priced many, many times more.
The Pro-4 is small & compact. It weighs only 2 pounds including the carrying case.
There are no Antennas to raise, or probes to put in the ground. The Antenna is built in. To work in a ground mode (close to the target) merly set the transmitter on the ground. To work in an air mode (distance) merly place the transmitter on a stump, log, or platform elevated no more than 5 feet above the ground.
The Pro-4 has 8 frequency selections. GOLD, SILVER, COPPER, LEAD. TIN, IRON, DIAMOND, & EMERALD.
The frequencies are very stable computer programmed, generated and broadcast through a small electronic (state of the art) microcontroller circuit.
It includes a programmed frequency shift which is activated by a slide switch on the side of the unit with an indicator light showing when it's activated. This feature more than doubles the Target nulling capability of the remote Belt carried 'Weight Chek' for determining the probability of targets weighing up to 50 pounds.
The small (non electronic) belt carried 'Weight Chek' is included at no additional cost and will null out up to 15 pounds of a targets ('field' volume) converted to a rough approximation of weight, on it's own.
The free swinging Dowsing like rods, have brass sleeves which are extendable.
