The Hephaestus 4 deep metal detector is a device created on the principle of operation of a magnetometer-gradientometer, which simultaneously reacts to large metal objects made of ferromagnetic alloys with its own magnetic residual field and to the natural magnetic field of the Earth, and also measures the horizontal gradient of gravity acceleration.
It is used to search for artifacts hidden underground, treasures (for example, in cast-iron dishes), foundations of houses in treasure hunting and archeology; manholes, pipes in the municipal construction sector; equipment, ammunition in search activities "in war"; used for detailed study of structures in iron ore and polymetallic deposits in geological and environmental studies.
The depth of detection of ferromagnetic objects, underground and underwater magnetic anomalies varies from 1.5 to 5 meters, depending on the size and shape of the target.

Easy to learn and use, the Gefest / Gefest 4 magnetometer-gradientometer does not require assembly and operates on the principle of “turn on and go”, allows you to make measurements without orientation to the cardinal points with continuous and free movement of the operator. The Hephaestus 4 deep metal detector by its design consists of a block with an LCD display and a sensor rod, when searching with the device, it must be vertically above the surface, the operation takes place in a static mode. The device has a light weight (450g), sound and visual identification of targets, several search programs, adjustment of the threshold of the Magnetometer.
The magnetometer registers changes in the magnetic field caused by metals such as iron, cast iron, nickel and does not react to metals such as copper, aluminum, gold or silver, etc.
